Dogford Park Dog Park
A public off-leash dog park. Bring your furry friends and please clean up after your pet. Leashed dogs are not permitted inside the enclosure.
The park is open from sunrise to sunset each day. The hours below may differ slightly from season to season.
Refilling stations are not available. Bring your own water.

Health and safety remains a top priority for the City of Brantford and its citizens. Please follow current public health measures.
Use of the off-leash dog park is only permitted during daylight hours (sunrise to sunset).
Dogford Park rules
For the safety and enjoyment of all who use Dogford Park please abide by the following rules, etiquette and guidelines.
- In accordance with the City of Brantford Animal Control By-Law, owners must clean up after their dogs and place waste and litter in the designated containers provided.
- The Corporation of the City of Brantford and the Dogford Park Committee assume no responsibility for any injuries or damage that might occur during the park usage. Please use at your own risk.
- Dogs must have a current City of Brantford dog license and all vaccinations must be up to date.
- According to the City of Brantford Animal Control By Law, all dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the park.
- Dogs must be under the care and control of owner/handler at all times once entering the park.
- Dogs must wear collars at all times inside the park.
- Aggressive dogs are not permitted on the premises. Dogs must be removed at the first sign of aggression. Any muzzle order in effect according to the current City of Brantford Animal Control By Law must be adhered to.
- Any dogs identified as restricted, dangerous, or potentially dangerous as defined under Chapter 206 of the City of Brantford municipal code, are not permitted on the premises.
- Female dogs in heat are not permitted in the park.
- Dogs under six months of age are not permitted in the park.
- Toys of all kinds (including balls) are not permitted in the park.
- Dog owners must carry a leash, be in the park, and within view of their dog at all times.
- Glass containers are not permitted within the dog park.
- Use of the off-leash dog park is only permitted during daylight hours. Sunrise to sunset.
- Food (Human or Canine) is not permitted within the dog park.
- All Children under the age of 14 years must be with an adult.
Etiquette
Beware of the misuse of the word “aggressive”. Behaviours that are natural and not necessarily aggressive can be found below.
- Charging
- Mass greetings
- Humping
- Posturing
- Play biting
- Dogs rejecting (telling off) other dogs
Enjoying the park
- Before entering with your dog, allow other dogs to exit the double gated area.
- Close first gate behind you before opening the second gate.
- Fill in any holes that your dog digs (look for the soil bins on site).
- Have drinking water available for your dog.
- Exercise is good for humans too! Have fun by moving around the park with your dog instead of clustering near the gate.
- Report any problems or concerns with the park to the City of Brantford.
- Report any aggressive dogs or dog bites to the Brant County SPCA immediately.
- Any dog bite should also be reported to the Brant County Health Unit immediately.
